119.jpgWith its pulsing lights and back-to-nature themes, Sony Ericsson’s S500i is aimed at the supposed style-savvy consumer. But does this sliderphone have the functionality and appeal to really grab fashion-phone followers?

With its new dimension in technology Sony Ericsson has dallied with the fashion world with mixed results, with the Z610i mirrored 3G clamshell and, let us not forget, injected the thin gene into the 9.4-inch thick gossamer W880i Walkman phone. But now it’s set to walk the style mile with a new trio of handsets including the metallic-hewn prepay Sony Ericsson T250i, the high-end candybar T650i and the S500i slimline slider.

Summary-:

The good:  The Sony Ericsson S500i is a beautifully designed handset with a slew of multimedia features that include a 2-megapixel camera plus a music player. Performance was great, as well.

The bad: The Sony Ericsson S500i has a rather fragile keypad, plus it’s on the expensive side.

The bottom line: The Sony Ericsson S500i is a stylish phone with a lot of sex appeal plus a decent feature set, but its high price and iffy controls make it less than desirable.
