Samsung has developed a thin phone obsession in the past couple years, and the U600 doesn’t stray far from the nest. At 4.07 inches by 1.95 inches by 0.43 inch, it ranks as one of the slimmest handsets around, though we know such records don’t last very long. Its slider design is based vaguely on earlier Samsung models such as the SGH-D900,

The Samsung U600 has an attractive design with a gorgeous display. It offers a decent selection of features, including Bluetooth and a quality camera.

The phone has 60MB of user memory itself whilst a microSD card will provide up to an extra 2GB. A microSD card is not supplied which seems excessively mean. Hot swapping is enabled. Samsung has allocated a maximum storage allowance for 200SMS and 1000 phone book entries. A 2GB microSD card would provide up to 150 of your tunes to be stored at any one time

The feature rich U600 plays multiple audio formats including MP3, AAC, AAC+, e-AAC+, and WMA. You can utilise the U600’s Bluetooth capabilities with a wireless stereo headset, allowing you to remotely control your music player, or transfer your music at  fast speeds using USB 2.0.

The U600 is the slimmest slide phone ever, measuring an astonishing 10.9mm thickness. Yet it’s a high-spec phone featuring a 3 megapixel camera with flash and autofocus, and a fully-featured music player with expandable memory to replace your MP3 player

Whatpc reviews Despite its thin profile the U600 still manages to squeeze in a 3.2-megapixel camera, helpfully placed at the top of the slide so it’s protected when the phone is closed but out of the way of fingers and thumbs when snapping. The Samsung music player can call on the 60MB of embedded memory and a microSD memory card (not included) to save tracks on. It also allows stereo reception over Bluetooth so you can listen to those tracks on cordless headphones, or use a wirefree headset to talk on the phone while the handset is stashed away in a pocket.

Alatest reviews An even slimmer, sleeker slider phone from Samsung, the U600 is jam-packed with excellent features such as a 3.2-megapixel camera with autofocus, an MP3 player, FM radio and stereo Bluetooth. And it’s only 11mm thick

The good:  The Samsung U600 has an attractive design with a gorgeous display. It offers a decent selection of features, including Bluetooth and a quality camera.

The bad: The Samsung U600 had passable call quality, and the speakerphone wasn’t very usable. Also, it lacks voice dialing and we didn’t like the push controls.

The bottom line: The Samsung U600 is more than just a beauty, but it won’t please the most demanding cell phone users.
