Samsung SGH-G800 - silver
Samsung has put itself in the frame as a serious cameraphone contender with the SGH-G800, a five-megapixel cameraphone sporting a 3x optical zoom plus face-detection and autofocus technology.
2.4” QVGA display of the phone is located on the front black panel . We are surprised that is has 262k colors instead of the more trendy, 16 million but is it a problem? Well, it won’t
be if the quality is good. Unfortunately, it’s not what we would like to see in the high-end model of the manufacturer. Samsung is known for its high-quality displays, and putting one with an average quality here isn’t a smart decision. It has a rather yellow tint but the greater problem is that it is hard to see in daylight. Added that the front surface is often covered with fingerprints, this problem increases.
While the bulk-factor hasn’t stopped the N95 hitting the bestseller list, the G800 doesn’t have quite the same heavyweight specs – such as built-in GPS and dedicated music controls - even if it does have that optical zoom edge.
Techtaxi reviews We had high hopes for the Samsung G800 and it lived up to them in many ways. It’s an attractive, solid phone that’s easy to use and packs a good camera relative to the competition. But in certain areas we expected more — the xenon flash, for instance, which is more like a very bright LED photo light than the extremely bright xenon flash on the Sony Ericsson K850i.
Cnet reviews Music quality was decent, but not spectacular. The audio was a bit tinny, and the external speakers have rather low output. As with most music phones, you’ll have the best experience if you use a headset. As an HSDPA phone, the SGH-G800 will support 3.5G networks, but our test model supported only the 2100 band, which is not used in North America. As such, we couldn’t test that feature.
Pocketint reviews The phone’s overall software is the same found on Samsung’s Ultra edition handsets and comes with an easy to use interface that lets you get the most out of the phone from text messaging to listening to music via the MP3 player.
Trying its best to be a fully-fledged camera, the phone offers a number of features that you can opt and choose for in the camera mode.

LetGoMobile reviews the Samsung SGH-G800 and writes, “Pictures can be made with the use of the five Megapixel auto focus digital camera. The camera offers an auto focus assist lamp, a xenon flash, face detection and image stabilization. We can say without exaggerating, that the Samsung G800’s camera is currently the most advanced camera inside a mobile phone. The possibility to zoom in three times optically enhances the photographic possibilities. This way distant objects can be captured without any quality loss. This is a true advantage compared to the competitors with digital zoom.”
Summary-:
The good: The Samsung SGH-G800 has a high-quality 5-megapixel camera, a wealth of features, and decent call quality.
The bad: The Samsung SGH-G800 has a disappointing Web browsing experience, and its flash was rather dim.
The bottom line: The Samsung SGH-G800 does a lot of things right, but a few underwhelming features left us wanting more.
Cnet rating-: 7.6/10
