Samsung Instinct Reviews
Last week, Sprint announced the Samsung Instinct, an upcoming device that has clearly been designed to go head-to-head with the Apple iPhone.
It’s not going to be what many people consider a smartphone, but it will still offer many of the features smartphone buyers are looking for, like a web browser, EV-DO Rev. A, email, GPS receiver, and more.
Samsung was demonstrating the Instinct at CTIA last week, and I was there to capture a video demonstration:
Features
The Instinct’s feature set is well stocked with a host of goodies that should make any media phone fan proud. Inside the 3G handset, which is Sprint’s first device to have EV-DO Rev. A at birth, you’ll find a 2-megapixel camera, access to the Sprint Music Store for wireless downloads, stereo Bluetooth, audible caller ID, voice dialing and commands, a full HTML browser, a digital music player that shows album art, support for Sprint Radio and Sprint TV, phone as modem capability, Microsoft Live Search, and integrated GPS with Sprint navigation.
Performance
We were glad to see that the phone comes with a 2GB memory slot and two batteries, each of which promises 5.75 hours of talk time. The 3.5mm headset jack is another plus as it lets us use our own headphones without any kind of adapter. That’s very cool indeed
Samsung Instinct Reviews From infosyncworld
Pros:
Great call quality. Excellent Web browser, with cool browsing features. Great navigation, well-integrated with the rest of the phone’s features.
Cons:
Not as responsive as it should be. No IM client. Lacks a load of onboard memory. No tethered modem support.

The good:
The Samsung Instinct offers a slick, intuitive design and a heavy load of powerful, innovative, and easy-to-use features. It particularly shines as a messaging and GPS device.
The bad:
The Samsung Instinct lacks Wi-Fi and instant messaging, and its call and video quality were erratic. Also, its Internet browser could be refined and its camera lacks editing features.
The bottom line:
The Samsung Instinct stands out as one of Sprint’s finest devices to date. It’s just too bad its call quality could use some improvement.
