Palm Treo 800w (Sprint) Reviews
Palm Treo 800w from Sprint gives me headaches. Instead of a regular launch with a nice press release and all that we keep hearing rumors about release dates and prices. The Palm Treo 800w was expected to hit the stores on July 13th and therefore it appears to be available online from Sprint now. We’ve heard about unofficial Treo Sales earlier this week from Sprint. The rumored prices were $350 for a two year contract and $600 without a plan
features include stereo Bluetooth support, a Micro SD Expansion Card Slot, a 2.0 megapixel camera/camcorder with 2x zoom, WiFi networking, speakerphone, a 320×320 TFT offering 65K colors, a voice-recorder, customizable picture Caller ID, a touch-screen, and of course an integrated, backlit QWERTY keyboard. The 800w offers 256MB for user memory and 128MB of program memory. In addition, a Data Transfer Mode (DTM) allows users in an active data session to be notified of incoming voice calls, rather than having them go automatically to voicemail.
Palm Treo 800w Sprint Reviews From cnet
The good
The Palm Treo 800w brings the addition of Wi-Fi and GPS. The Windows Mobile 6.1 smartphone also offers EV-DO Rev. A support; a higher resolution touch screen; a slimmer design; and a 2-megapixel camera.
The bad
The Treo 800w can be sluggish at times and call quality could be better. The QWERTY keyboard may also give users some problems.
The bottom line
With the addition of Wi-Fi and GPS, the Palm Treo 800w finally catches up to some of its competition and even offers a better design. The Windows Mobile smartphone will be a good fit for Sprint’s business customers, if the battery life can keep up.
