Nokia N76 Review
The super stylish Nokia N76 3G smart phone comes in a sleek & eye catching casing which will certainly cause a stir in the mobile phone market. The handset comes in a choice of two colours which include a stylish red colour & a sleek black colour which are both pleasing on the eye. The sales package includes the Nokia N76 itself with a Nokia phone charger, Nokia USB cable, MiniSD™ memory card, Nokia headset, user guide & a quick start guide.

The Nokia N76 pays resemblance to the popular Motorola RAZR V3 & Motorola RAZR V3i which can only add to its appeal. The N76 is a member of the Nokia N Series which include many highly user focused phones including the Nokia N93i & the Nokia N95.
The Nokia N76 is a dual screen flip opening 3G mobile phone which comes with a 1.36 Inch external screen which provides up to 256k colours on a bright & clear screen. The user can use the quick cover keys which are situated below the external screen which allows the user to play music & take photos without opening their N76 handset. The external screen comes with a screen resolution of 160 x 128 pixels & comes with a ambient light detector. The large internal screen provides the user with a 2.4 Inch QVGA TFT type display which provides up to 16 million colour for the user to enjoy a clear & colourful viewing experience. The internal screen has a screen resolution of 240 x 320 pixels
However, the N76 has a number of shortcomings. First, there are a number of design flaws that make this otherwise stunning smart phone unattractive. Second, it doesn’t work on our 3G bands and there’s no support for the A2DP Bluetooth profile. And once again, battery life is an issue. So without the backing of a U.S. carrier, is it worth paying $500 for an unlocked version? Well, it’s a bit heartbreaking. General performance is good, but for the money, we want a better design and other connectivity options.
The N76 screen is 2.4 inches across diagonally and is bright and crisp with vivid colours. There are no issues with the screen which also works well in normal sunlight. There is a light sensor for automatic adjustment to display brightness. This is located above the main screen which is obviously the best location for it. A summary of the Displays & User Interface :
* Main display: large bright 2.4 inch QVGA (240 x 320 pixels) TFT with up to 16 million colors
* Cover display: 1.36 inch color display (160 x 128 pixels) TFT with up to 262,144 colors
* Operating system: S60 software on Symbian OS
* User Interface: S60 3rd Edition
Nokia N76 Review from trustedreviews “The N76 is available in red and black. My review sample was the red variety, and I have to say that while I don’t usually go for red in a handset the all metal casing and use of silver as the other colour does have a certain appeal. It won’t be for everyone, though, and the black alternative is a rather more subtle take on things.This is a clamshell phone and a huge one. The flip format enables mobiles to be pretty small, but Nokia seems to have ignored that design possibility here. Measuring 106.5mm tall, 52mm wide and 13.7mm thick, it grows to a massive 185mm tall when the flip is opened. At 115g, at least it is not too heavy.
Nokia N76 Review from pcmag “There’s no denying that Nokia’s slimmest, best-looking flip phone yet, the N76, is a powerful, unlocked smartphone. The terrible truth, though, is that this handset is dragged down by a string of design and software flaws. Its short battery life and lack of a fast wireless data connection are deeply disappointing.”
