nokia mobile phoneNow this time comes up with new Nokia 3110 classic phone. The Nokia Universal Holder keeps your phone firmly in place and supports a broad variety of Nokia and other manufacturer’s mobile devices.

It seems Nokia has run out of model numbers for their new handsets. The latest Nokia that we received has the same model number as one of their initial handsets. This is not the only model number to be re-used, there are more of these coming up. All of these new handsets are followed by ‘Classic’ after the model number that makes it the Classic series. So today we have a rejuvenated handset which has been placed in the entry mid-range level phones segment, the Nokia 3110 Classic.

The phone comes with easy to use & control music features which include a built in media player & a FM stereo radio. The user can play music & video on their media player which supports MP3, MP4, AAC, AAC+, enhanced AAC+, H263, H264 & WMA formats. The user can enjoy their favourite music on the move & watch all those lively video clips with ease. The Nokia 3110 Classic comes with a 3GPP video streaming feature which allows the user to catch up with all the latest news & entertainment using video 3GPP streaming. The built in FM radio feature allows the user to tune into their preferred radio chat show, music station or catch up with the latest sports results on their radio feature. The phone supports MP3 & MIDI ring tones which allows the user to change their ring tone to suit their style & taste. The phone comes with a built in camera feature which allows the user to capture still photos as well as capturing moving video footage. The Nokia 3110 comes with a 1.3 mega pixel camera with a 8 x digital zoom feature which allows the user to gain a clear & precise photo or video each time they use the camera feature. The user can record video footage using the 1.3 mega pixel camera which can then be shared or stored on the 3110 Classic.

The way the 3110 classic is designed, it gives off the impression of extreme dullness. I believe, this phone was done up in passing, and I’m sure you will agree, the form factor is something even the most fashion-deprived mind should find bland. The 3110 comprises a glossy black front and a black rubber rear.

The in-built loudspeaker sounded great to my ears as I surfed through FM radio channels. It’s sweet and doesn’t crack at full volume. A volume controller is present on the side. The sound, however, gets muffled when the phone lies flat as the speaker is on its back. The in-flight mode lets you listen to music anytime. The headset which is part of the package is a pleasure to hear as well. The built-in media player plays these formats - MP3/MP4/AAC/AAC+/H.264/WMA.

Looks wise the phone is far from stunning. The screen area looks nice. But below the screen - that is the keyboard area - the finish looks cheap.

The volume keys can be found on the right side of the phone, while the left hand comprises the Infrared port. The power off/on button can be found on the top, and the bottom has the charger plus the miniUSB slot and the 2.5mm earphone jack. The camera is situated above the battery cover.

The camera is good enough. It has an 8x zoom. The night-mode was missing in the video recorder though. I tried taking my own pic by turning on the self-timer but the mirror meant for self-portraits was missing at the back which made it difficult.

The feel of the keyboard is good. Keys are large and easy to use.

Nokia 3110 classic Reviews:-

 # Gsmarena Review: - hi every 1, I’ve been using this phone 4 6 months so far. i can say I’m having a very good experience using it. when i bought it i noticed the problem of ringing tone volume level (4 is 2 low 5 is 2 high) I updated the firmware of it to the latest..

 # Yourmobilephonereviews Review: - Nokia 3110 classic has got some serious problems. When I bought the phone, I found out that there was a bug in the firmware or software. I couldn’t set the alarm for PM for items like reminder, notes etc, neither it allows me to enter a time in 24 hour clock. One day I just tried the Reset Factory Settings option & guess what, it solved the alarm problem. It allowed me to set AM or PM, but, the on & off button on the top stopped working immediately. When the battery ran out & the phone switched off, I am not able to switch on the phone even after charging the battery fully. The ringbone volume is bad too. There are so many negative points people have posted in many forums too. This phone is not so good. Will not recommend to anyone.

 # Techpointer Review: - I recently had the chance of using the Nokia 3110 Classic - my sis bought it yesterday. It’s a new phone, released in Q2 2007. At an affordable price of INR 6800 this phone is really cheap considering it boasts of a 1.3 MP camera and a host of other features.
